How to Setup Manuall Connection to Marshallnet for Windows 98/95/ME

Step 1

Double click on My computer Double click on Dialup Networking *Windows Me users double click on Control Panel and then Double Click on Dial-up Networking.

Step 2

Double Click on Make New Connection ...And the Dial-up Connection Wizard will start.

Step 3

In the Type a Name for this Connection Field: type Marshallnet. In the Select a Device section, click on the down arrow and verify that you have the correct modem selected. Click Next

Step 4

In the Area code field: type 641 In the Phone Number filed: type 753-4010
Click Next

Step 5

Click Finish on the next screen.

Step 6

After you Click Finish you will see a New Connection called Marshallnet. Right click on the Marshallnet Connection, and Left Click on Properties.

Step 7

Under the General Tab, Clear the check mark from the box next to Use Area Code and Dialing Properties

Step 8

Under the Server Types Tab, Clear the check marks from the boxes Next to Log on to Network, NetBEUI and IPX/SPX Compatible The only to fields that should be selected are Allow Software Compression and TCP/IP
Click OK.

Step 9

Now we need to Create a Shortcut on your Desktop, so that your connection to Marshallnet can be easily found. While in the Dial-up Networking folder, Right click on the Marshallnet Connection, and Left click on Create Shortcut

Step 10

A window will appear that states Windows cannot create a shortcut here.
Do you want the shortcut to be placed on the desktop instead?
Click Yes.

Step 11

Close All applications until you are back to your desktop. You should now see a Shortcut to Marshallnet icon on your desktop. Double click on the shortcut to Marshallnet. Type in your username and password and click Connect. In the username box type your full email address (example@marshallnet.com).
*Note: username and passwords must be all lower case.
